taṁ kīrtayāmaḥ prabhupādadevam || 1||

śrī-śrī-navadvīpa-para-pradīpaḥ – Lord Chaitanya Mahāprabhu, the transcendental lamp of Nabadwip; sandīpyamānaḥ – brilliant blazing; satataḥ – eternal; bhuvi – in the world; iha – here; cetaḥ – of the heart; tamaḥ – the darkness of ignorance; hanti – indeed; yasya – of whom; yatnāt – because of the endeavor; tam – him; kīrtayāmaḥ – let us glorify; prabhupādadevam – His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda.

(1) Let us continuously glorify His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Śrīla  Prabhupāda, by whose efforts the hearts of all living entities, which were pervaded by darkness, are becoming illumined with the brilliant and everlasting lamp of the teachings of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, whose eternal abode is the holy dhāma of Navadvīpa.

Note: This poem is written in the meter upajāti, the same as Śrī Gurvaṣṭakam of Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī.

śrī-bhaktisiddhānta-pracoditaḥ śrī-
vyāsādya-kośaṁ kuśalaṁ kṛpāluḥ |
san mleccha-vāg-deśa-caye ’dadhad yas
taṁ kīrtayāmaḥ prabhupādadevam || 2||

śrī-bhaktisiddhānta – by Śrī Śrīmad Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Prabhupāda; pracoditaḥ – ordered; śrī-vyāsa-ādya – of Vyāsa and others; kośam – the treasure house (of scriptures); kuśalam – auspicious; kṛpāluḥ – merciful; san – being so; mleccha-vāk-deśa-caye – in the Western countries where English and other languages are spoken; adadhāt – placed; yaḥ – who; tam – him; kīrtayāmaḥ – let us glorify; prabhupādadevam - His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda.

(2) Taking the order of his spiritual master, Śrī Śrīmad Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī, as his life, he showed his causeless mercy on the lowest born creatures, the inhabitants of the Western countries, by translating, publishing and distributing the auspicious treasure house of devotional literatures written by Śrīla Vyāsadeva, Śrīla Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja and others. Let us, therefore, continuously glorify Śrīla Prabhupāda.

आच्छद्यते यत्परतर्कदृश्य-

(3) The last snare of nescience had been set in place by the Māyāvādī “gurus” and “svāmīs,” who appeared like so many glowworms. When, however, the brilliant sun of Lord Govinda’s transcendental form began to illuminate the world, having been established, through the expert logic of Śrīla Prabhupāda, as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the glowworms were naturally eclipsed . Let us, therefore, continuously offer praise and adoration to His Divine Grace Śrīla Prabhupāda.

यस्यैव यत्नेन पुराणराज-

Because of his efforts, the pure and crystal-clear Ganges river of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, the king of the Purāṇas, is now flowing all over the world. The pebbles in that river are the jewels which are the prayers of the pure devotees, and playing within its waters are the swans which are the pastimes of Lord Keśava.

In this way, truth is emerging as the victor. Let us, therefore, double and redouble our glorification of Śrīla Prabhupāda.
